This page explains what information Natural Resources Conservancy (NRC) collects through natrecon.org, how we use it, and how long we retain it. We collect as little as possible. You can browse the site without telling us who you are.

Who we are

Natural Resources Conservancy is a nonprofit land trust based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, contact us:

  • Email: info@natrecon.org
  • Phone: (539) 328-7658
  • Mail: [street address, Tulsa, Oklahoma, ZIP]

Our contact form

When you send a message via our Contact Us page, we receive:

  • the topic you choose
  • your name and email address
  • your phone number, if you give it
  • your message

We use this information only to reply to you and to help answer your question.

Your message is sent by email to info@natrecon.org. It is not stored on the website after it is sent. If an email fails to send, the website keeps the message for up to 7 days so we can resend it, then deletes it.

Your message remains in our inbox for as long as we need it to help you. To request its deletion, email info@natrecon.org.

Spam protection

Our contact form has built-in spam protection. It adds a hidden field that people never see but automated programs often fill in, and it checks that the form was sent from a real browser. This happens on our own website. No information is sent to another company for this purpose.

Our newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter, your email address is sent to Kit, the service we use to send it. Kit stores your address so we can email you updates on land protection and resources for landowners.

We send a confirmation email first, and you are added only after you confirm. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. You can read Kit’s privacy policy for details.

Website security and visit records

Our website is hosted by Bluehost in the United States. Like most websites, the server keeps standard records of visits, such as IP addresses, browser types and the pages requested. We also use a security tool that monitors visits to block attacks, and it records the IP addresses of visits. We use these records only to keep the site secure and running.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site, including which pages are visited, how long they stay, and how they found us. This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies, small files stored by your browser, to distinguish one visit from another. It does not tell us your name or contact details, and it does not store your IP address.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we have disabled Google’s advertising features on our site. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Kit (our newsletter service) may also use cookies or similar technologies to make their forms work.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The site still works if you do.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising purposes. We share it only with the services listed on this page that help us run the site (Bluehost, Google Analytics and Kit), or when the law requires it.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to other websites, such as resources for landowners. This policy does not apply to those sites. Please read their privacy policies.

Children

Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email info@natrecon.org or call (539) 328-7658. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
